This fitted library shelving was the result of extensive consultation with the client, making and adapting drawings to meet their exact requirements. Design features of the early Victorian schoolhouse were incorporated, such as the stylised arabesque arch of the windows.

The fourteen oak casements and seventy shelves were manufactured and finished off-site using a range of traditional and modern techniques. Nickel fittings enabled the shelving to be easily adjusted, giving the client the flexibility to comfortably house his extensive book collection.
