When purchased, this Victorian rosewood box was barely recognisable. However, the brass inlays and much of the original mother-of-pearl had survived intact and we were able to cut new inserts for those areas that had suffered damage.

The locking mechanism and hinges were replaced with period brassware and the box itself was fully restored before being sypathetically repolished to enhance the warmth and depth of the rosewood.

A Victorian design was chosen for the lining paper and the inner compartment of the lid was lined with felt and ruched silk in coordinating blues.
